My Do-it-Yourself Projects

Ring bearer pillows

Picture
I couldn't find any pillows I liked. They were all so "fancy" and we were looking for something a little more rustic.... so I enlisted the help of my wonderful Grandma to make some. I bought all the supplies at JoAnn's (green material, white ribbon, stuffing and white flowers with rhinestone centers).

Guest Book Quilt

Picture
In lieu of a traditional guest book, we are doing something we know we will actually look at and cherish- a guest book quilt.  We will have pieces of material cut in to squares and permanent pens for guests to write a message on their square. We are using a charity group to sew it in to a quilt.

This was my mom's idea and I am so excited about it!

<<<The picture at left is our inspiration, except in yellow, green and white.  The center on ours is a scan of our wedding invitation.

Card box/bird cage

Picture
We got this bird cage from a family friend that used it in their wedding. It was white with blue ribbon but we painted it a mocha color (as pictured). I'm still trying to decide if I should add a green bow to it or leave it as is.

My "Something Blue"

Picture
I love this idea for my "something blue"... Blue rhinestones on the bottom of my shoes. I put " K *heart* C" on mine.

Thank You cards

Picture
I made a simple sign with white poster board (the thicker kind). We had our photographer snap a few photos with it at the wedding. I used Vistaprint to turn it in to the cover of our thank you cards.

Ceremony Programs

Picture
I designed our programs myself and had them printed at a local printer, Spectrum. They will be attached with a stick in the middle to function as a paddle fan.

(These pictures were taken before they were re-printed. The day after I picked them up from the printer, I noticed "Officiant" was spelt wrong! OOPS!)

(Names blurred for privacy.)

Kid's Activity Book

I made an activity book with coloring pages and a few games. I used a hole punch to make two holes in the side, and tied the pages together with ribbon. It was a quick project and the kids loved them.

Below is the file. Note: The pages are out of order.
